1s out of Dunn after loss at Malvernians

3 Nov 2020

The OHAFC 1st XI were eliminated from this season's Arthur Dunn Cup at the first time of asking on Saturday afternoon when they fell to a disappointing 2-0 defeat away to First Division Old Malvernians.

In dreadful conditions on an artificial surface at Brunel University Sports Park in Uxbridge, the Blues enjoyed the better of the opening exchanges but fell behind on twenty minutes when Kyle Barrett brought down a Malvernian midfielder inside the box and a penalty was somewhat harshly awarded.

Minutes later Harrow's luck deserted them completely when a cross from the wing sailed over keeper Fraser McGuinness and in off the underside of the crossbar for a fluke second.

But the visitors had no-one to blame but themselves when they missed a golden opportunity to get back into the game after the break, Cyprian Owen Edmunds firing a spot-kick over the bar following a foul on Dan Firoozan.

An injury to substitute Jack Hill left the Blues playing the closing stages with ten men and consequently they were unable to trouble the hosts further.
