1st XI end season on low note

26 Apr 2014

The OHAFC 1st XI finished their 2013/14 campaign on Saturday, much to the relief of those who were still making an effort to turn out for the side.

Availability for the final game away to Old Cholmeleians was again appalling with people crying off on Friday and even Saturday morning.

It was only thanks to goalkeeper David Griffiths having a friend with him that the side were able to take to the field with 11 men.

Despite enjoying the better of the game for a forty minute spell either side of half-time, the much greater class and determination of the home side proved too great an obstacle to overcome and Cholms ran out comfortable 4-1 winners in the end.

Schoolboy Dan Firoozan provided the one bright spark of the afternoon when he scored superb goal with just over ten minutes remaining.

A brief report of the match plus the final lineup for the 1st XI this season is now available in the results section.
