2s suffer loss to Eton in friendly

Harrow 2 Eton 6

After a superb breakfast courtesy of their skipper, the 2nd XI squad travelled up to Harrow to face an Eton side which included 8/9 1st team players.

An excellent playing surface suited Eton down to the ground and Harrow were chasing shadows for the first half an hour, Jack Orr-Ewing making some excellent interceptions at vital times. However, Eton opened the scoring with a beautifully hit free-kick from 30 yards. A second followed soon after. Harrow found themselves 2-0 down at half time having squandered a couple of decent chances.

In the second half the 2s managed to retain more possession. Kamil Amin and Alex Cater looked in good form and recent school leaver Will David showed some good touches. The side were unlucky to concede a penalty after Will Orr-Ewing's block was deemed illegal and Cater had a perfectly decent goal ruled out for offside. Two comedy moments reminded everyone of the game's friendly nature: a Paul Robinson style own goal from the Eton 'keeper and an extraordinary block in the Harrow box from Woolley.

With captain Jack ringing the changes throughout the game, most players found themselves with a useful 60 minutes under their belts before the League opener in 2 weeks time.
