2s distraught after cup run halted by average Lancing

A disappointing loss to an average Lancing side ended Chopra and Woolley's hopes of reaching a third successive cup final. Late pullouts from Bone and both Crawleys left the side depleted in attacking midfield areas.

The Harrow team dominated the first half enjoying the majority of the possession in their 451 formation. Kamil Amin suffered a hamstring injury just after the half hour mark which forced Chopra to change the system and bring Max Curry on up front alongside Dave Stead. Alex Cater continued to launch long throws into the box but without success. Harrow conceded from a set piece which was headed back across goal and tapped in by the delighted Lancing striker at the back post.

The second half was much more of the same but as Harrow pushed forward they allowed Lancing time and space on the break leading to two more Lancing goals. A bitter pill to swallow for Chopra's men after such commendable efforts in the conpetition in recent years.

The 2s face a six pointer next week vs Kings Wimbledon. A loss would surely dump the side out of Division 3.
