2s lose to Charterhouse in JLC final

21 Apr 2012

Old Carthusians III 5 Old Harrovians II 1

A dominant performance by Old Carthusians III (after winning Division 2) avenged the heartache of their 2nd XI clubmates the previous year.

OHAFC's five man midfield was by-passed as the OC's played long ball and pressurised Pritchard as frequently as possible in the early stages. OHAFC were 3-0 down at half time when Trower replaced Berry on the right hand side of midfield.

A goal made it 3-1 with half an hour to spare - Trower turning and shooting brilliantly into the bottom left hand corner, the keeper helpless.

The introductions of Soyinka and Bartlett made an impact on the teams attacking threat. This proved to be too little too late however, as Charterhouse hit Harrow on the break twice as the latter pushed men forward.

Not a fairy tale ending to a fantastic second half of the season this time but the 2s will be back fighting again next year.
