2s march on with fifth consecutive League victory

28 Oct 2019

The OHAFC 2nd XI registered their fifth consecutive League win of the season on Saturday, beating the Old Merchant Taylors 4-2 at home and, as a result, regaining top spot in Division Two of the Arthurian League.

Early goals from Pablo Hutchinson and Max Curry, the latter a superb volleyed effort, saw the hosts establish a two-goal lead. Taylors pulled one back following slight confusion in the Harrow defence, but the Blues immediately regained their cushion courtesy of a second from Hutchinson.

An unfortunate own goal from Harry Woolley ensured the visitors remained in touch at the break, but a fine team goal five minutes into the second half, rounded off by substitute Ed Beecham, stretched the lead again and the home side held on comfortably enough in dreadful conditions on the Hill.

The 2s become the first OHAFC side in over a decade to win their first five League fixtures in a season.
