2s season ends with defeat to KCS Wimbledon 2s

27 Apr 2021

The OHAFC 2nd XI season was brought to an abrupt end on Saturday afternoon when they were defeated 5-3 by a strong KCS Wimbledon 2s in the quarter-finals of the Junior League Cup on the Harrow School astroturf.

The visitors dominated the early stages and opened the scoring after ten minutes before OHAFC forward Pablo Hutchinson was then forced off with a bad ankle sprain. The hosts managed to level courtesy of a tap-in from substitute Gbeminiyi Soyinka, but KCS then took control, scoring three times prior to the break, the first courtesy of a penalty.

The OHAFC enjoyed the better of things in the second half and a thrilling comeback seemed possible following a second from Soyinka and a close-range Charlie Bick effort after a fine strike from Arthur Leney that cannoned back off the crossbar.

But the Harrow attack began to splutter as the half wore on and a fifth for KCS a quarter of an hour from time settled proceedings, leaving the Blues to contemplate what might have been. The side now enjoy a few months off before, hopefully, an uninterrupted 2021/22 season.

The final 2s team sheet and match report of the campaign are now available in the results section here.
