3s slump to Shirburnians defeat

16 Dec 2019

A disappointing performance from the OHAFC 3rd XI saw them slump to a 3-0 defeat at home to the Old Shirburnians on the Harrow School astroturf on Saturday afternoon.

In windy conditions on the Hill, the visitors took a firm grip on the game with two goals in two minutes midway through the first half. A long throw was finished at the near post to give the Shirburnians the advantage, before a superb strike from twenty-five yards flew over Kyri Pittalis and dipped at the last moment to double the lead.

Despite playing with more conviction after the break, the hosts failed to convert any of the half-chances created and they were made to pay late on when the Shirburnians scored a third.

The defeat leaves the OHAFC in sixth in the Division Four table, with five games remaining after Christmas with which to secure their status.
