3s slump to defeat on sub-standard Sevenoaks pitch

29 Sep 2013

The 3rd XI opened their campaign against new boys Sevenoaks who proved to be a very good team and physical in nature. Will Pridham put in the side's best performance with Alex Jamal scoring the only Harrow goal. Chuka Ilogu and Nick Kapoor made their debuts - both looked promising and Theo Gordon fought hard the whole game.

A horrendous challenge on 'keeper Benji Sewell at the beginning of the second half had him off to A&E with Fogarty accompanying him. This left Harrow with 10 men and astonishingly only a yellow card for the challenger.

Sevenoaks led 3-1 on 75 minutes with Harrow struggling to cope with a pitch well below league standards. A flurry of goals followed with the final score 6-1. A disheartening start to the season but since many of the team were playing together for the first time there were lots of positive signs and Gordon's men will look to bounce back in 2 weeks time when they face Ampleforth.
