3s spring superb comeback at King's Scholars

25 Nov 2019

The OHAFC 3rd XI launched a superb fightback away to the Old King's Scholars on Saturday afternoon, rallying from 2-0 and 3-1 down to snatch a late point with a 3-3 draw.

The first ever meeting between the sides seemed destined to end in a home win as King's, playing their first ever season of Division Four football, raced into an early 2-0 lead on the astroturf in Hampton courtesy of two long balls over the top of the Harrow defence. But the visitors hit back with a superb strike from skipper Mo Shah to reduce the arrears to a single goal. Disappointingly, the visitors then conceded a penalty, Dan Abu with a late challenge. Although the original strike rattled the bar, Kings followed up to convert the rebound and their two-goal lead was re-established.

But a reinvigorated Harrow side fought hard after the break and gradually built pressure on the Kings goal. Ade Omisore's effort with twenty minutes remaining ensured a tense finish and with seven minutes remaining Adam Graham, in his first appearance of the season, snatched an equaliser to ensure the points were shared.

The 3s stay in sixth in Division Four ahead of this weekend's visit from leaders the Old Kimboltonians.
