3s suffer first defeat of the season

30 Sep 2019

The OHAFC 3rd XI suffered their first defeat of the new season on Saturday, when they fell to a 3-1 loss at home to Brentwoods 2s on the Hill.

There was a touch of fortune about the visitors' first two efforts, with one a dubious penalty following a handball, the second involving a ricochet off the referee that ended with a drop-ball being played through to a Brentwoods forward. In between, Oscar Gairard had levelled the score at 1-1. But a breakaway goal towards the end of the second half ensured the visitors would claim the points - the first League defeat the OHAFC 3s have suffered to a side other than the Old Suttonians since a 4-2 defeat at home to Westminsters 2s back in March 2018.

The defeat leaves Nick Kapoor's men fourth in Division Four and they enjoy a week off now before returning to action with the reverse fixture away to Brentwoods in a fortnight's time.
