Dramatic Soyinka winner seals opening day victory for 2's

7 Oct 2012

Outstanding performances from Simon Maydon and Ed Arghebant, together with a headed brace from Gbeminiyi Soyinka, ensured the OH 2's got their first win of the season against rivals Eton. Soyinka's second came in the 3rd minute of added time, with the referee sounding the full time whistle immediately afterwards.

Arjun Chopra and Harry Woolley used the repeat substitutions rule to good advantage, making their first changes after half an hour. New boys Coleridge-Cole and Morley-Fletcher both acquitted themselves well and Kerry did a fine job in the centre of midfield.

After bumping into Mr Turner (JPT), 'down the pub midweek', Phil Berry was supplied with a crisp £20 note and instructions to hand the monies to the forthcoming Man of the Match. After the game, Chopra duly awarded the generous prize to Maydon in the showers, but it mysteriously disappeared a short while later in the Royal Stag.

All in all, a great start to the league campaign for the 2nd XI.
