Home loss to Lancing confirms end of 1st XI title hopes
9 Feb 2013
Any hopes the OHAFC 1st XI had of making a late charge for the Premier Division title were comprehensively extinguished on Saturday when they suffered a 5-2 home defeat to Lancing - one of the main contenders in the title race.
The defeat owed much to a terrible start to the game by the home side, who found themselves three goals down inside a quarter of an hour through a combination of Lancing excellence and Harrow lethargy.
Despite fighting their way back to 3-2 early in the second half, two late counter-attacking goals sealed a deserved victory for the visitors.
The defeat confirms winning the Arthur Dunn Cup is the side's sole objective now.
