Lady Luck continues to desert the 2s

6 Jan 2020

The OHAFC 2s were once again ruing a combination of bad luck and wayward finishing as their run of League defeats stretched to three games following a 3-1 loss to the Old Rugbeians on Saturday afternoon.

Despite enjoying the better of the early exchanges, the visitors failed to find the breakthrough, Jack Alhadeff hitting the post and Pablo Hutchinson the bar. Rugbeians took advantage of some defensive slackness to score twice in quick succession and Harrow keeper Kyri Pittalis was forced into a string of superb saves in order to keep the half-time deficit to just two.

But the Blues pushed forwards after the break to dominate once more. Alhadeff pulled one back, glancing in Ollie Curry's corner with a near-post header, but further chances were spurned and the hosts sealed the win with an excellent third in the final ten minutes.

The defeat leaves the 2s struggling to keep pace with Division Two leaders the Old Carthusians.
