Late sending off costs 1st XI dearly at Tonbridge

25 Nov 2019

The OHAFC 1st XI paid a dear price for their first red card in several seasons when they fell to a 2-1 defeat away to the Old Tonbridgians on Saturday, despite leading with twenty minutes remaining.

An excellent first-half display saw the visitors score the opening goal through midfielder Dan Firoozan, his second in consecutive weeks.

And they appeared on course to hold on for three valuable points as time ticked down in the second half. That was until Cyrpian Owen Edmunds received an unfortunate second yellow card for tugging an opponents' shirt and the visitors were forced to play for the final twenty minutes with ten men.

The Tonbridgians took full advantage, scoring twice late on to snatch an undeserved win and stretch the Blues' run without a win in the League to five games. The side stay sixth in the Premier Division table ahead of next weekend's trip to face the Old Bradfieldians.
