The OHAFC Vets XI earnt their first win of the season with a battling 4-2 victory over Lancing at the Bank of England Sport Ground on a beautiful Sunday morning in south west London.

With only ten players available for the fixture, the Harrow side was delighted to accept the offer of the Lancing substitute to don the famous black and white stripes and swap allegiances for the morning.

And it proved to be a smart decision. Despite falling behind after half an hour, two goals inside ten minutes gave the home side a 2-1 lead at the break. Andy Nicholson finished well having been played in down the left wing, then regular Vets scorer Ben Stones annoyed the visitors by planting a quickly-taken free-kick into the far corner with the Lancing 'keeper only just having finished lining up his wall.

In an even encounter, Harrow also won the second half 2-1: Lancing equalised after an hour when a long-rang effort got the better of Jon Ingram in goal, but victory was earnt thanks to two goals in the final twenty minutes. Ben Stones grabbed his second of the match, cutting inside from the left and sneaking a shot in at the near post after being played in by brother Seb, then Lederman rounded the scoring off in style, intercepting a pass out from the Lancing goalkeeper before steadying himself and chipping the stranded custodian from thirty yards out.
