Weekend Round-Up: 3s Cup hopes ended emphatically

14 Mar 2023

On another disappointing weekend for the OHAFC, the club's last remaining hopes of silverware were convincingly extinguished.

The 3s went into their David Woolcott Trophy quarter-final with the Westminsters 2s, Division Five leaders, as slight favourites, but were convincingly beaten 5-0. A makeshift back four struggled to contain a lively Westminsters attack, although the scoreline was given a rather lopsided look as late injuries forced the hosts to see out the game with only ten men.

Meanwhile, the OHAFC 2s sunk deeper into the relegation mire with a 1-0 defeat at home to Division Two leaders the Old Radleians. Despite a strong performance from the Blues that merited at least a point, a long-range strike midway through the first half proved sufficient for the visitors to take the points.

The 2s have three games remaining with which to salvage their Division Two status.

Team sheets and match reports from both games are now available in the results section.
