Weekend Round-Up: 1s suffer humiliating defeat
Both the 1st and 3rd XIs suffered defeat at the weekend, with the less said about the 1st XI's performance, the better.
The 1s travelled north to face the Old Kimboltonians at Hertfordshire University Sports Campus in Hatfield but left with a humiliating 7-0 defeat and their tails firmly between their legs. Poor preparation undoubtedly cost the Blues their awful start to the game, with the hosts 3-0 up inside twenty minutes. Although the Blues rallied somewhat as the game wore on, the hosts were good value for their win, Harrow keeper Fraser McGuinness helping to prevent what could have been an even worse scoreline.
The Blues return to the foot of Division One and immediate improvement is needed if their season is not to unravel.
The defeat suffered by the OHAFC 3s was more frustrating than anything else, with the visitors twice having come from a goal behind to level down in southwest London against KCS Wimbledon 2s.
Alvin Adefarasin struck either side of half-time to give the Blues hope of a second consecutive draw. But the home side snatched the points following a defensive mix-up in the Harrow rearguard, although substitute Will Brounger then came within inches of scoring a dramatic late goal for the visitors when his long-range effort crashed against the bar.
Team sheets and match reports for both games are now available in the results section.
