Weekend Round-Up: 2s claim maiden victory

6 Oct 2026

All three OHAFC sides enjoyed mixed results on Saturday, with the 2s earning their first win of the season, the 1s gaining a valuable point away from home but the 3s suffering a second defeat on the Hill.

The OHAFC 2s finally broke their duck at the fourth attempt with a hard-fought but fully deserved 4-2 win away to the Old Canfordians in Chiswick. An even first half saw the hosts take the lead against the run of play, the visitors hitting back just before the break when Owain James fired in. The Blues made the perfect start to the second half when Freddie Everett headed in Geoff Taunton-Collins’ cross from the right. But the home side were gifted the chance to level from the spot, Giacomo Grasso harshly penalised for a trip.

The game swung in the final twenty minutes when a second, far more blatant, penalty was saved by keeper Rory Craig. This allowed the Blues to snatch victory in the final ten minutes, Ed Stewart pouncing following a goalmouth scramble before Andres Hutchinson headed in Calum Butler’s cross.

Victory lifts the 2s into fifth in Division Three with four points from four games played.

The OHAFC 1st XI travelled north to Aldenham with a depleted squad but came away with an excellent point following a 2-2 draw. The hosts took the lead midway through the first half with a lovely finish from their young striker, only for the visitors to respond in quick fashion, debutant Joe Murray finishing on the volley from skipper Dan Firoozan’s lobbed pass.

Aldenhamians retook the lead from a long throw a minute before the break, but the Blues continued to battle away and were rewarded for their efforts with a fine second goal with twenty minutes remaining, Will Payne crossing from the left for Murray to sweep home first time. The point was only confirmed once keeper Hassan Hammad had made a superb save with five minutes remaining, diving full length to his right to palm a long shot over the bar.

The news from the Hill was not so good, however, as the 3s fell to a 2-0 defeat at home to the Old Bradfieldians 2s. Despite being the better side for the vast majority of the first seventy minutes, the hosts failed to take advantage of numerous promising attacks. And they were made to pay when the visitors finished the game strongly scoring twice in the space of ten minutes.

Team sheets and match reports from all three games are now available in the results section.
