The OHAFC 3rd XI made their season bow on Saturday morning but there was no happy ending for new joint-skippers Sam Dunn and James Gibbens as visitors Merchant Taylors 2s snatched victory with practically the final kick of the game.

The 3s had battled bravely to keep the game goalless, keeper Hassan Hammad making several excellent saves. But a long ball over the top saw the Harrow man caught in no-man's land and a forward latched onto the pass and finish with some ease.

Despite this late setback, the new skippers were pleased with the efforts of their players and remain optimistic looking ahead to the remainder of the season.

Optimism may be something that is in short supply in the 2nd XI, however, following a second consecutive defeat. The 2s made the long journey to Essex to face the Old Brentwoods 2s but made a sloppy start and found themselves 2-0 down inside fifteen minutes. The home side made sure of the points with two further goals midway through the secon half, Owain James' late strike proving no more than a consolation.
