1s slump continues as KCS Wimbledon snatch late win

26 Oct 2020

Despite a much-improved performance, the OHAFC 1st XI fell to their sixth consecutive defeat in the Arthurian League Premier Division, a solitary goal twenty minutes from time sealing their fate in a tense encounter against fellow strugglers KCS Wimbledon on the Hill.

The return to action of two former 1s regulars, Ed Poulter and Jack Hill, lent the side better protection in front of the back four, with the result that the home side never looked like conceding the avalanche of goals they have done in recent weeks.

However, going forwards continues to prove a struggle and once KCS scored their goal, a fine driven shot from the corner of the penalty area that flew past skipper Fraser McGuinness in the Harrow goal, there seemed little chance of the Blues regaining parity in the minutes that remained.

The OHAFC remain rooted to the foot of the Premier Division table but can now enjoy a week off from the rigours of League football with an enticing Arthur Dunn Cup tie away to Division One side the Old Malvernians to look forward to.
