3rd XI upbeat despite heavy Ampleforth loss

12 Oct 2013

Despite two heavy losses in a row now for the OHAFC 3rd XI, Theo Gordon is working hard to keep morale high in the squad.

Stalwart Alex Gilbert scored the first goal of the game after half an hour following some very encouraging football from Gordon's men. However, Ampleforth scored an untimely equaliser just before the break as a well directed free-kick found the back of the net.

Unfortunately, a couple of fantastic saves from stand in 'keeper Elwell and fine performances from Pridham and debutants Angus Brown and Ali Buckley weren't enough to quell Ampleforth's momentum in the second half. The final score 7-1.

The 3s go to Forest IV's next week needing 3 points to kick start their season.
