Weekend Round-Up: 1s and 2s both suffer defeat

16 Jan 2023

Both the OHAFC 1s and 2s suffered League defeats at the weekend.

The 1s were due to face the Old Chigwellians at home, but with no pitch available, were forced to travel to Essex for a game played on astroturf at Roding Valley High School. The home side were 3-0 up at the break courtesy of a well-taken hat-trick from their winger, but a much better second half performance from the Blues saw them reduce the deficit to 3-2 courtesy of excellent goals from skipper Dan Firoozan and Jasper Gray. Unfortunately, the visitors couldn't quite force the equaliser.

The OHAFC 2s travelled to Hertfordshire University to face the Old Kimboltonians and found themselves with a mountain to climb when they conceded from a corner and two penalties in quick succession midway through the first half. A breakaway fourth saw the hosts earn a comfortable lead at the break and although Doug Pratt pulled a goal back late on, the Blues ended well beaten.

Both team sheets and match reports are now available in the results section.
